Senior Manager – Environmental, Health, & Safety
Rodney Malone joined Approach in January 2015 and currently serves as Senior Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety. Mr. Malone has 20 years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience in both general industry and onshore oil and gas. Prior to joining Approach, Mr. Malone served as the Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor from 2011-2015 for Quicksilver Resources U.S. onshore oil and gas operations. Over the course of his employment with Quicksilver Resources, Mr. Malone assisted with the environmental due diligence with the 2014 Tokyo Oil and Gas joint venture project in the Barnett Shale. Mr. Malone also managed and oversaw Quicksilver’s air compliance program which included the initial implementation of the 2011 U.S. EPA onshore oil and gas production greenhouse gas program. Over the course of his career, Mr. Malone has managed and overseen all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety related to onshore oil and gas. Before joining Quicksilver, Mr. Malone worked as an environmental consultant for Jacobs Engineering and TestAmerica.
Mr. Malone is an advocate of innovative technologies that help reduce the environmental footprint of onshore oil and gas operations, which includes in-situ remediation of soils and the sustainable recycling of water.
Rodney Malone graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry & Wildlife Management with a Minor in Biology. Rodney Malone also holds multiple certifications and training, which includes OGI Thermographer, Visible Emissions Evaluator, NORM Surveyor, OSHA General Industry and Construction Safety & Health, 40 hr Hazwoper, Safety Basic Plus, and CPR certified instructor.
